Listed below are some resources that we have found very useful and informative. For the books we have included a short review of the book. We have read and use all of the books we have reviewed.

Books:
	Using HTML 4 by Molly E. Holzschlag A comprehensive guide to HTML that has a lot of good examples and is easy to follow. Can be used as a first HTML book or a reference.
	The Design of Everyday Things by Donald A. Norman Not a computer how to book but an in depth look at how things are designed. Makes you think about the design of everything in a different way. Fascinating and valuable to anyone who designs anything.
	Maximize Web Site Traffic by Robin Nobles & Susan O'Neil Provides a good understanding of how search engines work and strategies for maximizing search engines placement. Also includes a lot of links and other resources.
	JavaScript - A Beginner's Guide by John Pollock An excellent beginning guide to JavaScript. Full of examples that can be used or modified.
	Designing Web Usability by Jakob Nielsen An in depth look at designing usable websites. Provides real world examples of good and bad design. Very comprehensive and excellent resource to have around.
	Homepage Usability 50 Websites Deconstructed by Jakob Nielsen & Marie Tahir Provides screen shots of 50 homepages and dissects what is good and bad about each one. An excellent guideline for developing homepages that are easy to use.
	Using FileMaker Pro 5 by Rich Coulombre & Jonathan Price An excellent introduction to FileMaker Pro that also goes into some more advanced subjects like portals and advanced calculations. Provides a lot of examples and has a companion CD that comes with it that contains all of the code for the examples.

www.searchenginewatch.com Contains information about all of the major search engines and website optimization. Also provides an excellent email newsletter that is sent out weekly.
www.internet.com Provides a lot of information and website design and development. Contains many links and tutorials.
www.informit.com An excellent general IT information source. Also provides a free weekly email newsletter subscription.
